Boon or Bust!

After hurricane Michael, while the town was rebuilding, there was a rumor of a hotel being built in Simmons Bayou. Later it was learned that it was the Black's Island Hotel. Wow! Right here in Simmons Bayou, hard to believe. And much to my surprise they actually started building the thing.

I thought, here come the restaurants, the convenience stores, maybe even a Kroger Store. What, huh? I was dreaming.

Alas sometime in 2022 it was no longer the Black's Island Hotel. They took it off their Website? And construction stopped. Now it's the Fall of 2024, some 4 years later. It has nice palm trees and provides shelter for a lot of stray boats, trucks, cars, and what not.

Too bad it would have provided guests with beautiful views in a friendly neighborhood with a restaurant within walking distance. Maybe someday!
